Deadside is a top-down roguelike shooter where no two runs play quite the same. Fight through dynamically generated arenas, experiment with different weapons, and survive increasingly challenging enemy encounters.

PCG is used to generate chunk layouts and enemy encounters so each run feels different, while Jev evaluates the player's performance and playstyle to adjust future generation and keep the difficulty responsive to how they are playing.

Keep moving, keep shooting, and see how long you can survive the Deadside.

hi steven, thank you for your comment! the chunk maps you’re seeing (including what enemies spawn each chunk and where they go) are generated live using rewrite rule-based pcg! additionally, jev is used to adjust chunk difficulty for players according to skill level, using player telemetry.

Apologies, I wasn't fully awake last night. Thanks for explaining, interesting to learn how the rewrite-rule PCG and Jev's telemetry-based difficulty work together!
